Plant Cell Structure  

Plant cells contain more organelles than animal cells. We are, again, going to use a diagram of some of the main organelles to show you their position, and then below we shall explain what each one does. You will notice all of the organelles found in the diagram above are found in the plant cell also. 

These have exactly the same use as stated here. We shall only explain what the new ones do. 

 (1) Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll and absorb sunlight which is used for photosynthesis.

(2) The vacuole is a food store.

(3) The cell wall provides structure to the cell and prevents the cell from bursting.
